NETHERLANDS T20 WORLD CUP SQUAD.

Netherland have announced their squad for the T20 World Cup that’s scheduled to commence on 17th of October in UAE and Oman, Netherland have named a 15+2 man squad for the mega ICC event.

Netherland have a good strong batting lineup with a good mix of experience and youth, Max O’Dowd at the top with options in Ben Copper and Stephan Muburgh. Middle order there’s Scott Edwards, Bas de Leede, Ryan Ten Doeschate and skipper Pieter Seelaar who do hold the ability to switch gears and finish well. Lower middle order, Colin Ackerman and Roelof van der Merwe both handy with the bat, they’ve put up many cameos and the team will wish for a few more.

Teams knowing what conditions to expect in Oman and UAE are banking on spinners, Netherland do have options in Roelof van der Merwe, Pieter Seelaar, Colin Ackermann and Philippe Boissevain, there are options but lack a furnished frontline spinner. Pace bowling isn’t much of a concern as there’s variety and options in Paul van Meekeran, Timm van der Gugten, Fred Klaassen and Brandon Glover, disciplined bowling will be the ask.

NETHERLANDS SQUAD FOR T20 WC : Pieter Seelaar (c), Colin Ackermann, Philippe Boissevain, Ben Cooper, Bas de Leede, Scott Edwards, Brandon Glover, Fred Klaassen, Stephan Myburgh, Max O’Dowd, Ryan Ten Doeschate, Logan van Beek, Timm van der Gugten, Roelof van der Merwe, Paul van Meekeren. TRAVELLING RESERVE : Tobias Visee, Shane Snater

Netherland will first battle round 1 fixtures, they begin their World Cup campaign playing Ireland on 18th of October, they next play Namibia on 20th of October and meet Sri Lanka on 22nd of October for their last game of round 1 fixtures.

Won’t be a cake walk for Netherland with sides like Ireland and Sri Lanka to defeat, they do have a good team team but a qualification to super 12 isn’t that certain. If Netherland manage a super 12 finish that’ll surely mean they’ve handed big upsets to teams and that be an inspiring finish to their campaign.
